New for IACP 2010: Poster Sessions
For the first time IACP 2010 will feature poster sessions to provide another effective means of displaying innovative law enforcement practices. Modeled after their use in medical conferences, poster sessions create a good forum for exchanging ideas. Selected participants previously submitted proposals which were peer-reviewed and accepted based on relevance, quality, and suitability for poster presentation.
Posters may present on any of the following:
· a description of an innovative program
· an analysis of a practical problem-solving effort
· a report of a research study
Poster sessions cover a broad range of subjects grouped under topics including management, evidence development, technology, references, and services to special groups. Posters include narrative text, data, graphs, diagrams, and pictures. Poster sessions do not include product advertisements or vendor displays.
Posters will be displayed Monday, October 25th in the exhibit hall at the Orange County Convention Center. Poster participants will stand by their posters in one and one-half (1 ½) hour blocks between the hours of 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (two blocks: 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.). During this time, participants will informally discuss their presentations with conference attendees, answer questions, and give handouts. Specific topics and times for poster sessions are listed in the IACP 2010 on-site program as well as online.
